| Comments: | Arrived to find loads of gliders in the air. Wind too light a tthe bottom TO - walked up. Wind now to strong at top TO - walked down! Took off into good lift, but a little bumpy with only small broken thermals.After a while Dodgy and Ian got a good climb and I dived in low underneath them, with Matt also above me.Drifted over the back low hoping to catch the thermal when it restablised...and hoped...and hoped. Found my self at ridge height behind ridge and spent forever kicking the local ridge tiles. Matt breifly joined me flying the thermals off the mole hills, before getting a climb out.I struggled in zeros untill taking a dash for the quarroes at Hope Mountain. Arrived low (20ft above) and got a sound beating in the rough air over the trees. Nearly got a climb, but after 2 low level tucks decided to call it a day - well almost!Many thanks to Steve for the quick retrieve - I hope I can return the favour soon. |
