| Comments: | After some 30 mins scratching the hillside, found good lift and gained 500ft by simply flying into wind away from hill. Started drifting back with it to max out at about 2850 asl. While drifting downwind, topped up a little over a cut cornfield south of Llanarmon, then by several hundred feet more over Craig quarry. Could see Tim leaving hill higher than I did, but seems he missed the quarry lift. He landed before I did, and I didn't think it was worth going the extra field or two(and towards power lines) so I joined him for the walk and lift back. At about 8.5km, not a 'Dave Edwards Distance' but very satisfying! |
